Welcome to England!

The group arrived at London's Heathrow airport late this morning, tired but smiling!
After making sure everybody had £, we boarded the bus with our driver Keith & headed west, towards Oxford.
Known as the city of dreaming spires for its many beautiful historic colleges, Oxford was a great start to our tour - warm & sunny, & full of students in their gowns for exam week, bicycles, & other tourists!
After a little free time for lunch (cornish pasties, a traditional English 'fast food') we made a short circular tour of the city, visiting Balliol College (founded in 1266) & seeing theMartyr's Memorial, the Sheldonian Theatre, the Bodleian Library, Radcliffe camera, & Brasenose College.
Afterwards we enjoyed a little free time - some folks shopped for 'Oxford University' sweatshirts, others visited Christchurch College to see where parts of Harry Potter was filmed - before our final stop in Oxford, dinner at the Eagle & Child Pub where the 'Inklings' club once met, including writers J. R. R. Tolkien & C. S. Lewis.
Back at the hotel the students had a quick recital in the breakfast room before bed - judging from the amount of sleeping on the bus this evening nobody will have any trouble sleeping tonight!
